Meet The Team

Alison Jackson MD

Alison grew up in the Midwest and moved to Colorado in the 1980’s where she attended college at Colorado College.

Now venturing on her own, she has devoted her full attention toward delivering care in a small clinic environment, devoted to individualized care with each patient.

When not in the office, she is busy keeping up with her family.  She and her husband Paul and son Wesley, enjoy skiing, biking, hiking and backpacking in Southwestern Colorado.

Christy Duke

Christy is a long time Durango local.  Durango was an amazing place to grow up as a child, with its tight knit community and landscapes of deserts and mountains that double as a playground for her and her siblings.

After attending college at CU Boulder, she returned to Durango to teach grades 6th-10th at a local Charter school.  Soon after she started a family of her own and it was during this time, as a new mother, that she realized her true passion lay in nursing.  She earned her nursing degree in 2003 and shortly after began working in Family Medicine and nearly 7 years with Dr. Jackson.  She added to her nursing knowledge becoming a certified densitometrist technician and osteoporosis specialist.  Christy is also the owner and operator of Wink, a permanent cosmetic business.

Now, years later, she is delighted to be reunited with Dr. Jackson.  Christy loves the philosophy behind Balanced Health and knows firsthand the quality of care Dr. Jackson’s patients receive in this exceptional practice.

When Christy is not working, she is happily raising her three children, supporting them in their many talents of soccer, skiing, biking and music.  She is pleased to give her children a similar upbringing to her own in a place she can truly call home.

Claire Barnard

Claire started her nursing career as a student nurse at the Royal Melbourne hospital in Australia.  She completed her RN training and worked on a kidney transplant and dialysis unit for several years.  A love for overseas travel took her to the UK where she did private in-home nursing care and took this skill off to Zambia, Zimbabwe, and her favorite – Zanzibar!

Claire found her way to Durango where she now lives with her two children, who are her world!   She has worked with cardiologists and family physicians in Durango, and now as an RN on the labor and delivery floor at Mercy Hospital.  Through obstetrics, she feels honored to be present when life enters this world.

Claire is excited to be working with Dr. Jackson in a business model that allows for and encourages a holistic approach to the bigger picture of a healthy self; to achieving your best “you” in an environment that provides very individualized care and timely attention to each person’s needs.
